| 16 to 19 Nov - 53rd Macau Grand Prix |
The Macau Grand Prix is a unique international motorsport spectacular first run in 1954. This year, practice and qualifying sessions will take place on November 16 and 17 (Thursday and Friday), with competitors slugging it out on the racetrack on November 18 and 19 (Saturday and Sunday).
In March, leading UK motorsport magazine Autosport included the Macau Grand Prix in Twenty of the top motorsport events you really shouldnt miss in 2006, describing the event as legendary.
The notoriously demanding 6.2km street circuit sees riders and drivers reach top speeds on the straights before slamming on the brakes to negotiate the infamous 90 degree Lisboa Bend and the "close to 360 degrees" Melco Hairpin.
In 2005, the Grand Prix added another string to its already-impressive bow with the inclusion of the final two rounds of the inaugural FIA World Touring Car Championship in the line up which also included the Formular 3 Race, Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix and other exciting races. This year, this world acclaimed event celebrates the 40th outing of its famous motorcycle street race and a series of activities are planned to celebrate this milestone.
Tickets are now on sale priced from MOP$50 for a seat at the popular Lisboa Bend during practice, to MOP$750 for a two-day Grand Stand race package. For ticketing, programme and full details, please refer to the organiser or visit www.macau.grandprix.gov.mo.

| - UNESCO World Heritage List - The Historic Centre of Macau |
The Catholic Cathedral
The word Cathedral comes from the ancient Greek Kathedra or Seat in English. In the early years of the church, only the 12 disciples and their descendents could minister the communion by passing the Seat from one minister to another.
Situated near Rua de S. Domingos, the Cathedral is located on the top of the nearby paved hill. Here, Midnight Mass is held at Christmas and the Procession of the Passion of Our Lord is enacted every year. Next to the Cathedral stands the timelessly beautiful Bishops Palace. Although the Cathedral is not the biggest church in Macau, it is certainly one of the grandest.
In 1575, the Catholic church was established in Macau - named the City of the Name of God - and promptly became the centre of Catholicism in Asia. In 1576, the Cathedral was built and many important relics of the 16th & 17th Century are stored here.
The Cathedral square has recently been refurbished, and an imposing fountain added, providing a convenient spot for residents and visitors to relax in comfort. Less than 2 minutes walk from the Cathedral lie the major thoroughfares of Rua de S. Domingos, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro and Avenida de Praia Grande.

Macau Tea Culture - An Exhibition of Modern Tea Houses and Tea Shops
There is a long tradition of tea drinking in China, which can be divided into tea-tasting and tea-drinking. Drinking tea slowly for the purpose of self-enjoyment, with special emphasis on moods, fragrance, colour and forms, is known as tea-tasting. Tea-drinking, on the other hand, involves intensive tea making and rapid consumption.
The citizens of Guangdong are famed as tea lovers. In teahouses, customers can order their own choice of traditional tea to accompany light appetizers while they sit around a table with friends and relatives. 'A couple of dim sums with a small cup', or morning tea, has always been indispensable entertainment and important for building social relationships among the elderly people of Macau.
This exhibition displays some 68 exhibits including paper labels, moon cake wrapping paper, the song lists of teahouses, news and advertisements in the tea industry, as well as the tea cans sold in tea shops. The comprehensive array of exhibits is rich in historical and cultural significance and is sure to please the eye as well as the palate.
